Full-counting blackjack EV calculator — no Hi-Lo shortcuts

The Fullcount Method — Full Counting vs Hi-Lo

Fullcount is named for what it does: full counting. Instead of squeezing the shoe down to one running number like Hi-Lo, the Fullcount strategy tracks the exact composition of every rank remaining and computes the precise expected value of each action. It is card counting taken to its mathematical limit.

What "full counting" means

Traditional card counting compresses information to stay doable in your head. Hi-Lo lumps every low card into +1 and every ten into −1 — a deliberate approximation. Full counting keeps everything: how many 2s, 5s, 7s, 9s, tens and aces are actually left. From that exact composition the true edge of every hand can be computed directly, with no estimation step.

  • Hi-Lo / KO → one number, an estimate of the edge.
  • Fullcount → the full remaining-card distribution, the exact edge.

Why it's the ground truth

Hi-Lo's true count and its index deviations are all attempts to approximate one thing: the EV of your decision given the cards left. Full counting computes that EV directly, so there is no Hi-Lo rounding and no decks-remaining guess. It is the number every counting system is trying to reach — which makes it the perfect tool for checking whether a count-based deviation is really correct.

The catch — and why the app exists

No human can full-count a live shoe; the arithmetic is far too heavy. That is exactly why Hi-Lo was invented as a practical shortcut. The Fullcount Blackjack Calculator does the full computation for you: enter your hand, the dealer's up-card and the cards already seen, and it returns the exact EV of Stand, Hit, Double, Split and Surrender for your rules and your shoe.

How to use the Fullcount strategy

  1. Learn basic strategy first — it is the foundation.
  2. Use Hi-Lo and the true count at the table for practical, in-your-head decisions.
  3. Use full counting in Fullcount to study away from the table — verify your deviations, see exactly how much each play is worth, and learn where the real cut-offs are for the house edge of your game.

Full counting is the most accurate blackjack strategy there is. You can't run it in your head — but you can let Fullcount run it for you.
