Pragmatic Play Live Blackjack & ONE Blackjack — Rules, RTP & Strategy
Pragmatic Play's live blackjack lineup runs on an 8-deck S17 engine identical to Evolution Classic with one upgrade: Double After Split (DAS) is allowed (except after splitting Aces). The base Live Blackjack lands at 99.41% RTP. ONE Blackjack adds the 6-card Charlie rule on top, lifting RTP to 99.60% — one of the highest live-table RTPs in the industry.

What is Pragmatic Play Live Blackjack?
Pragmatic Play (PP) is a major live-casino studio (alongside Evolution and Playtech). Their live blackjack tables use 8 decks with S17, Ace-only peek, and the only rule difference from Evolution Classic is DAS allowed — a small player-friendly change worth ~0.14 pt RTP. The lineup includes Live Blackjack (no Charlie), ONE Blackjack (with 6-card Charlie), Blackjack X (multiplier overlay), and Behind Bet (back-betting). This page covers the two core titles.
PP Live Blackjack vs ONE Blackjack
- Both: 8 decks, S17, peek on Ace, DAS allowed (not on Aces), no resplit, BJ 3:2.
- ONE Blackjack adds the 6-card Charlie: any 6 cards under 22 auto-wins. Worth ~0.19 pt RTP versus the base PP Live Blackjack.
- Both support optional side bets: 21+3, Perfect Pairs, Bust Bonus, Crazy 7. Side bets have their own (significantly worse) house edges and are not part of base RTP.
Strategy notes
Standard 8-deck S17 basic strategy applies, with DAS adjustments:
- Split 2-2 / 3-3 vs dealer 2-3 (these are stand without DAS, split with DAS).
- Split 4-4 vs dealer 5-6 (skip without DAS).
- Split 6-6 vs dealer 2 (skip without DAS).
- For ONE Blackjack only: same 6-card Charlie adjustments as Infinite Blackjack — chase the 6-card auto-win on stiff totals against high dealer up-cards.
House edge breakdown
PP Live Blackjack at 0.59% house edge (99.41% RTP) sits about 0.12 pt better than Evolution Classic 8-deck (0.71% HE / 99.29%), entirely from the DAS rule. ONE Blackjack at 0.40% house edge (99.60% RTP per EV Solver) is roughly 0.30 pt better than Evolution Classic — among the lowest live-table house edges available, driven by DAS plus the 6-card Charlie. Side bets (21+3 etc.) carry house edges of 2–8% and should be avoided for pure EV play; they are entertainment / volatility tools, not part of base strategy.
